Skiing: Mauro Pini, head of technical disciplines for the Italian national team, resigns

Cortina d’Ampezzo (Belluno), 19 February (LaPresse) – “I take responsibility for the disappointing results achieved by Italian athletes in technical disciplines. After careful consideration, and noting the loss of the necessary mutual trust with my superiors, I believe it is right to step down. I would like to thank FISI for the opportunity I have been given and wish the athletes a future full of sporting success.‘ These were the words of Mauro Pini, the Ticino-based coach responsible for the men’s technical disciplines. ’A meeting will now be held in Milan at the end of the Olympic Games,” the Italian Winter Sports Federation said in a statement.
