Mexico, US ambassador: “The United States support the country”

Mexico City, 23 Feb. (LaPresse) – The United States ambassador to Mexico, Ronald Johnson, praised the Mexican authorities for their “professionalism and determination” in the operation against Nemesio “El Mencho” Oseguera Cervantes. Johnson stated that the Jalisco New Generation cartel, led by El Mencho, was “a narco-terrorist organization responsible for fentanyl trafficking and for fueling violence in (U.S. and Mexican) communities”.”I express my respect and solidarity to the Mexican officials and military personnel who confront these criminal elements daily, often at personal risk,” he wrote on Sunday in a statement. He said that the United States “firmly support Mexico in this shared responsibility and effort.”
