Mexico, after the killing of “El Mencho”, 25 National Guard members dead in clashes

Guadalajara (Mexico), 23 February (LaPresse/AP) – Twenty-five members of the National Guard were killed in Jalisco in six separate attacks following the capture of the leader of the Jalisco Nueva Generacion cartel, Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, known as “El Mencho”. This was announced by Mexico’s Security Secretary, Omar García Harfuch. Oseguera Cervantes was killed after his capture. A prison guard, a state prosecutor’s office agent and an unidentified woman also died in the clashes. Harfuch added that about 30 suspected criminals were killed in Jalisco and four other suspects in Michoacan.
