Milan, 24 February (LaPresse) – The Cagliari Public Prosecutor’s Office has formally closed its investigation into the activists and demonstrators involved in the pro-Pal marches and clashes that took place last autumn in Cagliari: 91 notices of closure of investigation have been served by the police on the same number of individuals. The Digos (Special Operations Division) is investigating the pro-Pal street demonstrations between September and October 2025 and the subsequent demonstration on 1 November. In the first case, in Cagliari, the demonstration took place in conjunction with the departure and subsequent blocking of the Global Sumud Flotilla bound for Gaza by the Israeli navy. Investigators explain that thousands took to the streets to demonstrate and, in almost all cases, without any critical issues in terms of public order and safety. Within this context, however, there was also the presence of ideologically oriented groups, linked to the most radical and extremist elements of the local opposition, who – adopting the slogan “let’s block everything” – gradually radicalised the protest initiatives, giving rise to unannounced marches or deliberately deviating from the routes previously communicated to the public security authorities.
