Ukraine: explosions in Kiev overnight, combined missile and drone attack

Rome, 26 February (LaPresse) – A combined air attack with missiles and drones was launched overnight on Kiev and other cities, including Kharkiv and Zaporizhzia, by the Russian armed forces. As reported by the Kyiv Independent, local authorities report damage to residential buildings and civilian infrastructure. The first explosions occurred in the Ukrainian capital around 4 a.m. local time, while Ukrainian air defence systems targeted incoming targets. Mayor Vitali Klitschko confirmed that air defences had been activated and warned residents to remain in safe places. Monitoring channels also reported the possible launch of additional missiles by Russian aircraft.
