Milan, 28 February (LaPresse) – Como means business. Cesc Fabregas’ team easily beat Lecce 3-1 in a comeback victory in the early match of the 27th round of Serie A. This victory, the second in a row after the one against Juventus, temporarily propels Como to fifth place with 48 points, just ahead of the Bianconeri, who are playing tomorrow in Rome. For Lecce, this is their second consecutive defeat, and their position in the table is becoming dangerous, with third-last place meaning relegation. At the Sinigallia, the home side started well, playing very high up the pitch and aggressively, with a series of shots in the opening minutes. However, it was Lecce who broke the deadlock with a fine header from Coulibaly, who surprised his opponents from Banda’s cross. Como’s reaction was immediate, and in just over twenty minutes, they turned the result around. In the 18th minute, Douvikas made it 1-1 with a close-range touch from Jesus Rodriguez’s assist from the left. The Spanish winger then scored the second goal in the 36th minute from Perrone’s assist, his first goal in Serie A. Before half-time, Como sealed the deal with a 3-1 lead thanks to Kempf’s header from Da Cunha’s free kick. In the second half, the hosts limited themselves to controlling the game without taking too many risks, with Fabregas giving space to the returning Nico Paz and the two veterans Morata and Sergi Roberto. Diao also got some playing time on his return from a long injury, and he even came close to scoring in the final minutes.
