Iran, Pope: “Overcome the conviction that it was free from conflicts was unattainable”

Rome, Mar. 7 (LaPresse) – “If we wish to promote harmony at a global level, it is necessary to seek the involvement and commitment of the international community for the common good, which transcends borders, religious traditions, and cultures.” This is the message that Pope Leo XIV sent to participants at the International Meeting for Peace and Reconciliation at Loyola University Chicago. “This also requires systematic interdisciplinary collaboration, bringing together institutions, organizations, scientists, and leaders in various fields to achieve this goal,” the pontiff adds. “Peace is a constant path of reconciliation with God, with ourselves, with others, and with creation. In this spirit, we are called to promote a culture of reconciliation capable of overcoming the globalization of powerlessness, which leads us to believe that an era free from conflicts is unattainable,” continues Pope Leo XIV. “Moreover, we must remember that prayer is also a powerful force for reconciliation. When people from different religious traditions gather in prayer, it has the power to change the course of history.”
