Genoa: 17-year-old stabbed in city centre, condition serious

Milan, 8 March (LaPresse) – A 17-year-old boy was stabbed in the back last night at around 1.45 a.m. in the centre of Genoa in Piazza Negri, the heart of the city’s nightlife. Police officers arriving at the scene found the young man, who was already receiving medical assistance, with a stab wound to his back. He was taken to San Martino Hospital in critical condition, but his life is not believed to be in danger. The Mobile Squad is currently investigating the incident, and the Genoa police are treating it with the utmost seriousness. The stabbing took place in a nightlife area where there were many people, especially young people. Several witnesses were interviewed by the police, but they gave conflicting accounts. The 17-year-old himself also gave his version of events, but investigators found it inconsistent, which is why attention is now focused on the surveillance cameras. The images could provide useful information to reconstruct what happened and, above all, to identify the attacker.
