Milan, 9 March (LaPresse) – Regarding the Bongiorno bill, ‘consent is being confused with silent consent, and I don’t think they are the same thing.’ This was stated by Gino Cecchettin, guest on the programme Che tempo che fa on Nove. “I thought of the Pelicot case, all cases in which the victim is unconscious for whatever reason. In that case, there is no “no”, but there cannot be one because the victim may be unconscious. So in that case, there is no consent, and it should be considered a violation, a crime, whereas instead, silence is being mistaken for consent, and I don’t think they are the same thing,” said Cecchettin.
