USA, bombs near the home of Mayor Mamdani in New York

(New York, USA), 8 March (LaPresse) – The FBI has opened a terrorism investigation after two explosive devices were found near Gracie Mansion, the residence of New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani. The first device, homemade but potentially lethal, was thrown during a demonstration against public Muslim prayer, while the second was found in a car parked near the mayor’s home. Two people arrested admitted to being inspired by ISIS. The demonstration, organised by right-wing activist Jake Lang, saw clashes with counter-demonstrators, who were more numerous, and the use of pepper spray by the police. Bomb disposal experts and law enforcement officers secured the evacuated areas and are continuing their investigations. Mamdani condemns the violence and calls the attempt to use explosive devices unacceptable.
