Parma, 13 March (LaPresse) – “At all other times, I lived my life because I didn’t think I was pregnant, also because when I went out, no one ever said to me, “You’ve put on weight” or “You have a bump”. so I didn’t think I was pregnant, because in my head I said “It’s impossible, otherwise others would have noticed” and that’s why I continued with my life, even engaging in behaviours that should not be done if a woman is pregnant, such as smoking and drinking.” This was stated during her testimony in court in Parma by Chiara Petrolini, the young woman from Vignale di Traversetolo, in the province of Parma, accused of murdering her two newborn children and disposing of their bodies. “I never had nausea, increased fatigue, movements inside my belly, none of that. I never took any medication to induce labour,” Petrolini continued. “I was never worried about giving birth on a plane, precisely because it was a thought that never crossed my mind”. The young woman also said that she had done research before giving birth because she was confused.
