Milan, 13 March (LaPresse) – Giacomo Bertagnolli (guided by Andrea Ravelli) won the silver medal in the Vision Impaired Giant Slalom at the Milan-Cortina Winter Paralympics. Leading after the first run, the Italian skier dropped back in the second, finishing with a time of 2’08‘17, 0.34 seconds behind the gold medallist, Austria’s Johannes Aigner (guide: Nico Haberl), who clocked 2’07’83. The bronze medal went to Poland’s Michal Polas (guide Kacper Walas), 2.08 seconds behind. With Bertagnolli’s silver, Italy has now won its 13th medal at this edition of the Paralympics, thereby equalling the all-time record for podium finishes set at the 1994 Lillehammer Paralympic Games.
