Milan, 5 Mar. (LaPresse) – Milan's gip, Luca Milani, has validated the 46.8 million euro emergency preventive seizure ordered at the end of February by prosecutors Paolo Storari and Valentina Mondovì against Dhl Express Italy srl, the shipping branch of the postal giant controlled by Deutsche Post, investigated for VAT tax fraud between 2019 and 2023 with non-existent invoices on labour administration contracts and for a ‘fraudulent mechanism’ that would cause ‘very significant losses for the Treasury’ and ‘situations of labour exploitation’ to the sole ‘advantage’ of the ‘principal’. In the 49 pages of the order, the gip recognises that ‘cooperatives/srls’ contracted by Dhl have ‘carried out an irregular labour administration’ based on the fact that the ‘employer's management powers’ are in the hands of the multinational company but ‘without bearing the contributory, salary and contractual burdens’ arising from the ‘hiring of employees’.
