Lecce: sexual abuse of an 8-year-old girl – two people arrested, including the mother

Rome, 24 March (LaPresse) – This morning, Carabinieri from the Taviano station, in the Lecce area, with the assistance of colleagues from the Taurisano, Supersano and the Operational Section of the Mobile Operations Unit of the Casarano Company, executed a pre-trial detention order against a 71-year-old man and a 53-year-old woman, both residents of southern Salento, who are suspected of aggravated sexual assault and child pornography. The two do not live together. Investigations carried out by officers from the Taviano Station, as part of criminal proceedings coordinated by the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Lecce, have made it possible to reconstruct a sequence of criminal acts that took place between August 2024 and August 2025. During this period, the two suspects allegedly systematically forced the eight-year-old girl – the daughter of the arrested woman – to suffer serious sexual abuse at the hands of the man, in which the mother actively participated. The mother is also alleged to have documented the abuse by taking photographs and videos, which she sent to the man along with other child pornography involving the girl, further aggravating the nature of the alleged offences.
