Washington (USA), 24 March (LaPresse) – Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the de facto leader of Saudi Arabia, has pressured Donald Trump to continue the war against Iran. This is reported by the New York Times, which notes that, in bin Salman’s view, the joint US-Israeli military campaign against Tehran represents a ‘historic opportunity’ to reshape the Middle East. According to the newspaper’s sources, during a series of talks held last week, bin Salman suggested to the US president that a desirable outcome would be the destruction of the Iranian government. The Saudi prince, sources familiar with the discussions added, argued that Iran poses a long-term threat to the Gulf region, one that can only be eliminated by removing the current government.
