Rome, 25 March (LaPresse) – The plenary session of the Superior Council of the Judiciary approved this afternoon a series of important appointments to senior positions within the Italian judiciary, appointing Raffaele Cantone – currently based in Perugia – as Public Prosecutor for Salerno, with four abstentions. The other appointments saw Luigi Alberto Cannavale unanimously appointed as the new Public Prosecutor at the Court of Nocera Inferiore, whilst the choice of Piera Tassoni as President of the Court of Ferrara was also unanimous; meanwhile, Maurizio Cardea takes up the post of Deputy Public Prosecutor in the same office with two abstentions. Giancarlo Novelli was appointed as the new Deputy Public Prosecutor of Naples with a single abstention. Finally, Maria Antonia Maiolino will head a civil division of the Court of Verona, an appointment that was approved with three abstentions.
