Iran, Trump: ‘We will always stand by our NATO allies, but perhaps there is no longer any need to defend them’

Milan, 28 March (LaPresse) – US President Donald Trump has suggested that the United States would cut back on its spending to protect other NATO countries, after some European nations rejected his calls for support in his war against Iran. This is according to CNN. “I think it was a huge mistake that NATO wasn’t there,” Trump said in Miami. “This will save the United States a lot of money because we spend hundreds of billions of dollars a year on NATO, hundreds of — to protect them, and we would always have been there for them, but now, given their actions, I suppose it’s no longer necessary, is it?” he added. “Why should we be there for them if they aren’t there for us?” Trump added.
