Rome Police Headquarters: ‘Checks on Salis not linked to today’s demonstration’

Milan, 28 March (LaPresse) – ‘Under no circumstances and in no way’ can the checks carried out on MEP Ilaria Salis ‘be linked to the recent legislation approved on public order’ and, similarly, ‘it is therefore categorically ruled out that this was a preventive check carried out in connection with today’s demonstration, but rather an action required under international obligations’. This was announced by the Rome Police Headquarters. ‘The patrol car’s intervention, in fact, took place at the request of a foreign country and on the basis of a system of international cooperation between police forces that has remained unchanged for years,’ the Police Headquarters reiterated.
