Milan, 31 March (LaPresse) – “Romelu has a significant, serious injury. I’m not a doctor, but he has decided to undergo conservative treatment rather than have an operation. I’ve been in the same situation, with the same type of injury, with Francesco Totti at Roma, who had chosen conservative treatment, and I can tell you that it takes time to recover from this type of injury.” This is how Belgium manager Rudi Garcia spoke about Lukaku’s situation during a press conference at the national team’s training camp. ‘I’m not surprised that Lukaku isn’t yet at 100% of his ability; he still needs a bit of time to get back to his best, but I think mentality is very important for a player,’ he added. “When you come back from an injury, you need to feel 100% so you’re not afraid of getting injured again. With the World Cup coming up, I think Lukaku is rightly keen to get back to 100% physically. I think it’s important for Napoli and Belgium, as well as for him, that he returns to his best form to help them qualify for the Champions League,” concluded the former Roma and Napoli manager.
