Iran, Hegseth: ‘Active and substantive talks; for now, we are negotiating with bombs’

Turin, 31 March (LaPresse) – “Having spoken with Steve Witkoff, Jared Kushner, Marco Rubio and many others, I can say that the talks are very concrete, they are active and they are gaining ground. And we appreciate that. We would far prefer to reach an agreement. If Iran were willing to give up the weapons it possesses and its ambitions. We do not want to have to resort to military means more substantial than necessary. But I did not mean to joke when I said that in the meantime we would negotiate with bombs. Our task is to force Iran to realise that this new regime would be in a better position if it accepted a deal. And so we will continue.” This was stated by US Secretary of Defence Pete Hegseth during a press conference.
