Rome, Apr 2 (LaPresse) – A meeting was held today at Palazzo Chigi between Undersecretary to the Prime Minister Alfredo Mantovano, the State Attorney General Gabriella Palmieri Sandulli, representatives from the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Justice, and Civil Protection, and the families of the victims and injured of the Crans-Montana tragedy. According to a statement from Palazzo Chigi, the meeting, “requested by Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and in line with the guidance expressed by Parliament, served to review the steps taken in recent weeks regarding investigative and judicial cooperation, both in Switzerland and in Italy, and to evaluate further possible initiatives: the first of these will be the Government’s request to join the proceedings as a civil party.” “It was also discussed whether to recall the Italian Ambassador to Switzerland to closely monitor the effectiveness of the cooperation underway. Full support for the families affected by the New Year tragedy remains a top priority for the Government,” the statement concluded.
