Jerusalem, 6 April (LaPresse) – Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz has confirmed that Israel has attacked the South Pars petrochemical plant in Asaluyeh. The statement came after Iran reported that the facility had been attacked. Katz stated that Israel had “just launched a powerful strike against Iran’s largest petrochemical plant, located in Asaluyeh, a key target responsible for around 50% of the country’s petrochemical production”. An Israeli strike in March against the South Pars facilities triggered major Iranian attacks on oil and gas infrastructure across the Arab Gulf states.
