Iran, Sánchez: “No applause for those who set the world on fire and then show up with a bucket of water”

Madrid (Spain), Apr. 8 (LaPresse) – Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, who has firmly opposed the war against Iran waged by the United States and Israel, welcomed the achievement of a ceasefire in the Middle East but wanted to recall the responsibilities of those who sparked the conflict. “Ceasefires are always good news. Especially if they lead to a just and lasting peace. But the momentary relief must not make us forget the chaos, the destruction and the lives lost. The Spanish government will not applaud those who set the world on fire just because they then show up with a bucket of water,” the socialist leader wrote on X, stating that “what is needed now” is “diplomacy, international law and peace.”
