Hungary, Magyar: ‘We have liberated the country’

Rome, 13 April (LaPresse) – “We’ve done it; together we have liberated Hungary.” Peter Magyar made this statement while addressing his supporters in Budapest following his election victory. ‘We have got rid of the Orbán regime,’ he added, as quoted by the BBC. ‘Tisza did not merely win the election: all the signs point to a solid two-thirds majority in the National Assembly. This means a peaceful and efficient transfer of power.’ ‘Our victory may not be visible from the moon, but it is visible everywhere in Hungary,’ added Magyar, referring to the speech delivered by Orban on the occasion of his last general election victory in April 2022, in which he had declared that he had achieved ‘a victory so great that it can be seen from the moon’.
