Hungary: new government expected within a month; two new Tisza MEPs

Brussels, 13 April (LaPresse) – The baseline scenario following Peter Magyar’s election victory in Hungary is that the new government will be in place within a month, although it is too early to say exactly how this will play out in practice. LaPresse has learnt this from Hungarian sources in the European Parliament. Magyar and probably another MEP will leave the European Parliament – where Tisza has seven members – and two new MEPs from the list of unelected candidates will take their place, the source reports. In Brussels, officials are awaiting the unblocking of the dossiers on which Orbán had imposed a veto, starting with the 20th sanctions package and the €90 billion loan to Ukraine.
