Ukraine, General Budanov: ‘Close to an agreement with the US on security guarantees’

Milan, 14 April (LaPresse) – “The military working group has set out in writing how to implement the ceasefire and manage the line of contact. This will be needed when the end of hostilities is decided.‘ This was stated in an interview with Corriere della Sera by Ukrainian General Kyrylo Budanov, who is leading negotiations with Russia and the United States on behalf of Kyiv. ’On the humanitarian front, we are exchanging prisoners: some of our men who were released at the weekend had been captured in 2022 during the siege of Mariupol. And then, with the Americans, we are very close to an agreement on security guarantees for Ukraine after the war,‘ he says. Regarding Ukraine’s accession to NATO, Budanov explains that ’it is a confidential process with the US that will soon be completed. Given the circumstances, we will be satisfied”.
