Draft bill on violence against women: Bongiorno says, ‘The opposition should table the text to attempt a final mediation’

Rome, 14 April (LaPresse) – A draft of the opposition’s bill on violence against women is to be submitted by 5 May in an attempt at mediation. The proposal comes from Giulia Bongiorno (Lega), chair of the Senate Justice Committee and rapporteur for the bill, who, when contacted by LaPresse, explained: “Let everyone put forward their own mediation proposal, to see if by 5 May we can piece together a mosaic from these suggestions.” “My intention is to attempt a final mediation,” she adds, “because in recent years we have always found common ground on laws important to women, and it is essential to do so today as well.”
