Crans-Montana: Codacons joins the proceedings as a civil party in the Rome Public Prosecutor’s Office investigation

Turin, 17 Apr. (LaPresse) – “Codacons has joined the case as a civil party in the investigation opened by the Rome Public Prosecutor’s Office regarding the tragedy that occurred on New Year’s Eve at the ‘Le Constellation’ venue in Crans-Montana, a case in which Jacques Moretti and Jessica Moretti are listed as suspects, facing charges of culpable disaster, multiple manslaughter, arson and grievous bodily harm aggravated by the violation of health and safety regulations‘. So stated Codacons in a press release.’ The tragedy in Crans-Montana, according to what has already emerged, was made possible by the violation of the most basic safety rules for premises open to the public, with a very serious infringement of the right of consumers and users to enjoy entertainment services in conditions of safety, reliability and compliance with fire safety regulations – writes Codacons in its application to join the proceedings – The offence committed by the defendants therefore has a direct impact on the collective legal sphere represented by Codacons, as it undermines the fundamental trust that users and consumers place in the safety of services offered to the public, particularly in settings intended for large gatherings of young people.”
