US: Exemption from sanctions on Russian oil extended by one month

The decision comes in contrast to statements made in recent days by Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, who had announced that the exemption would not be extended. The Trump administration had already eased some restrictions on Russian oil to keep energy prices in check, particularly following market tensions linked to conflicts in the Middle East.
