Russia: Solovyev refuses to apologise: ‘I was talking about Meloni as a politician, not as a woman’

Rome, 28 April (LaPresse) – In a conversation with Russian blogger Victoria Bonya, TV presenter Vladimir Solovyev refused to apologise for the insults he directed at Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni last week. Solovyev described the matter concerning the Prime Minister as “a separate issue”, explaining that he had not spoken of her “as a woman” but “as a politician”. In an excerpt from the video posted on his Telegram profile, the Russian TV presenter explained that Italian politicians had in the past described Russian President Vladimir Putin as “worse than an animal” and “a bloodthirsty executioner”, and “no one stopped them”.
