Greece: Man opens fire at social security office in Athens, leaving several people injured

Athens (Greece), 28 April (LaPresse) – Several people have been injured after a man opened fire at a social security office and subsequently at a courthouse in central Athens, according to Greek authorities. Police say the suspect initially fired shots at a public office in the centre of the capital, injuring an employee. He then reportedly opened fire on the ground floor of a courthouse, where several other people were injured. A major police operation is underway to track down the gunman, who local media say is an 89-year-old man armed with a hunting rifle. The motive for the attack is not yet clear.
