Washington (US), 30 April (LaPresse) – The United States has condemned the Global Sumud Flotilla, describing it as ‘a pro-Hamas initiative and a baseless and counterproductive attempt to undermine President Trump’s Peace Plan’. In a statement, the State Department states that ‘this pro-Hamas flotilla is organised by an OFAC-sanctioned entity, the “Popular Conference for Palestinians Abroad”, which was designated in January as a “specially designated global terrorist” for operating on behalf of Hamas’. Furthermore, the US State Department emphasises, “the founder of the Global Sumud Flotilla has publicly expressed his support for the Iranian regime and its proxy terrorist groups, including Hamas and Hezbollah”.
