Nablus, May 3 (LaPresse) – A Palestinian was killed and four others were seriously injured during an Israeli military raid in Nablus, in the occupied West Bank. The Palestinian Red Crescent reported, specifying that among the injured was a 12-year-old boy who was shot in the shoulder. The Palestinian Ministry of Health identified the victim as Nayef Firas Ziad Samaro, 26. His wife was in labor at a local hospital when she learned of his death; the man’s body was taken to the same hospital. According to witnesses, the raid took place outside the school, in an area crowded with civilians. The Israeli military (IDF) said in a statement that it responded to a clash in the Nablus area in which several “terrorists” threw stones at soldiers. The soldiers opened fire and “several successful shots were identified,” the IDF version provided.
