Milan, May 7 (LaPresse) – Five of the eight cases of suspected hantavirus reported on the Hondius cruise ship have been confirmed. This is what the Director General of the World Health Organization (WHO), Tedros Ghebreyesus, said at a press conference, as reported by the BBC. The other 3 cases are suspected, while the 3 deaths are confirmed. Ghebreyesus said the UK notified the WHO last Saturday of an “outbreak” of passengers with respiratory illnesses on board the vessel.
