Milan, 12 May (LaPresse/AP) – ‘Obviously, at the moment, I don’t know what the future holds for me. I still have plenty of time.’ So said LeBron James after his Los Angeles Lakers lost to the Oklahoma City Thunder in Game 4 of the Western Conference semi-finals. The defending champions swept the series 4-0 and advanced to the Conference finals. The 41-year-old James, who scored 24 points, remained non-committal about his future. He did not rule out retirement or a return to the Lakers, nor did he speculate on a possible move to another team, whilst he considers the possibility of a 24th NBA season, an unprecedented milestone. “I think I said this last year after the defeat against Minnesota. I’ll go back and reflect with my family, talk to them and spend time with them. Then, of course, when the time comes, you’ll know what I decide to do,” he added. ‘Nobody knows what the future holds, not even me,’ said James. ‘I’ll take some time to recalibrate my strategy, analyse the season and figure out what’s best for my future, and when I get to that point, everyone will know,’ concluded the NBA’s all-time leading scorer.
