Milan, 18 May (LaPresse) – Overnight, Russia launched an attack on Dnipro and the surrounding region, which “lasted more than six hours”; “a missile strike damaged a block of flats, whilst other civilian infrastructure was also heavily hit”; and “energy facilities and residential buildings across the region were also targeted”. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported this in a post on X, adding that “drones also struck Odessa and one of these UAVs hit a Chinese-owned ship”. “The Russians could not have been unaware of which ship was at sea. In total, damage has been recorded in eight regions and, at present, dozens of injuries have been reported across the country, including children,” Zelensky added. ‘In total, the Russians used 524 attack drones and 22 missiles of various types in this attack, including both ballistic and cruise missiles. Air raid alerts remain in force in many border and frontline communities, but our services are operating wherever the security situation allows,’ Zelensky continued.
