Guardiola – who is currently locked in a Premier League title race with Arteta’s Arsenal – is not expected to return to management immediately, but to take a break for at least a year. We are just awaiting the official announcement. Ready to take his place is Enzo Maresca, Guardiola’s former assistant during the 2022/23 season (the season of the treble) and fresh from his spell at Chelsea, which ended on 1 January this year.
