Milan, 20 May (LaPresse) – The Lithuanian army has reported a possible sighting of a drone near the border with Belarus. “We would like to inform you that the reason for the public alert is a radar signal with characteristics typical of an unmanned aerial vehicle. Activity near the Lithuanian border. The NATO air patrol mission has been activated,” the Lithuanian Armed Forces announced in a press release. It was also reported that the airspace above Vilnius Airport had been temporarily closed. Subsequently, an update and an air raid warning were also issued to residents of Vilnius County: a “red alert” was sounded, warning residents to take shelter in bomb shelters. The air raid alert was then lifted at 11.40 am (10.40 am in Italy) across the whole of Lithuania. This was reported by LRT.
