Rome, 20 May (LaPresse) – “Italy demands an apology for the treatment meted out to the protesters” of the Flotilla by Israel “and for the utter contempt shown towards the explicit requests of the Italian Government”. This was stated by the Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni, and the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Antonio Tajani. ‘The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation will immediately summon the Israeli ambassador to seek formal clarification on what has happened,’ added the Prime Minister and the Foreign Minister, going on to describe as ‘unacceptable’ the images of Israeli Minister Ben Gvir mocking the Flotilla activists.
