Milan, 22 May (LaPresse) – Lawyer Antonio De Rensis, legal counsel for Alberto Stasi, told the programme “Ore14” hosted by Milo Infante on Thursday evening that on 13 July 2022 he received a call from Stefania Cappa, who proposed a number of ‘highly prestigious conferences at CONI’ at which he was to have participated as a speaker. The phone call, which reportedly came on the very day that De Rensis had received from Deputy Prosecutor Mario Venditti – acting on the instructions of Chief Prosecutor Fabio Napoleone – the CDs containing the wiretaps from the first investigation into Andrea Sempio, opened on 23 December 2026 and closed with the case being dropped in March 2017, was apparently answered by a colleague at Stasi’s law firm and was not followed up. De Rensis added that he had immediately discussed the matter with Prosecutor Napoleone. “If I had wanted to speculate on this matter, I would have raised it earlier, but now that I have been attacked with such a despicable act, I am free to attribute whatever meaning I wish to that phone call,” said the lawyer during the episode of Ore14. “Since Ms Cappa has decided to take me to the Public Prosecutor’s Office, it is now a matter between her and me, and we will settle this in the appropriate forums.”
