Rome, 22 May (LaPresse) – The friend of Beatrice Bellucci, the 20-year-old who died in the tragic accident on the night of 24 October last year on Via Cristoforo Colombo in Rome, has been placed under investigation for complicity in vehicular homicide. Silvia Piancazzo, who was driving the Mini Cooper in which the victim was travelling, is said to have been implicated by the new technical report submitted by engineer Mario Scipione to the public prosecutor Andrea D’Angeli. The initial hypothesis of an illegal car race has, however, been ruled out. According to the experts who drew up the kinematic reports, both vehicles involved were travelling at high speed, exceeding the speed limit. The reconstruction shows that, approximately one hundred metres before the collision, the BMW driven by Luca Girimonte, travelling in the central lane, overtook the Mini, which was travelling in the left-hand lane.
