Milan, May 23 (LaPresse) – The Turkish Airways plane, flight TK1895, carrying the bodies of Monica Montefalcone, Giorgia Sommacal, Muriel Oddenino, and Federico Gualtieri landed at Milan Malpensa shortly after 1 p.m. today. The coffins of the four Italian divers who died in the Maldives were then transported to the morgue of the hospital in Gallarate, in the Varese area. The fifth diver, Gianluca Benedetti, the group’s boat leader, had already returned to Italy in recent days. Autopsies on all bodies, including Benedetti, will begin on the afternoon of Monday the 25th. The Busto Arsizio prosecutor’s office, which is acting on behalf of the Rome prosecutor’s office and holds a manslaughter case, has scheduled a hearing for Monday at 12:30 p.m. to appoint experts: Luca Tajana, of the Institute of Forensic Medicine at the University of Pavia; forensic toxicologist Cristiana Stramesi, also from Pavia; and anesthesiologist and hyperbaric medicine specialist Luciano Ditri. At the hearing, the families’ lawyers will be able to appoint their own consultants.
