Milan, May 31 (LaPresse) – The EU is considering a temporary freeze on the price cap for Russian oil in light of the situation in Iran and the Middle East. Bloomberg reports this on its website, citing sources familiar with the matter. Last year, the European Union adopted a dynamic mechanism to ensure that the price cap is automatically set every six months at a level 15% below the average market price of Russian Urals crude. The current price cap is $44.10 per barrel and is set to be reviewed later this summer.
