Ukraine, Tajani: ‘Impossible to guarantee security without the USA’

Brussels, 6th March (LaPresse) – “I find it absolutely impossible to think of guaranteeing the security of Ukraine and Europe without a solid transatlantic relationship, without NATO. It is fundamental, we have said it from the beginning, because without the United States this cannot be done”. This was said by the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Antonio Tajani, on arriving at the EPP pre-summit. ‘Having said that – he added – it also means that we must do our part, that is, spend more on our security. Security does not mean war, security also means the safety of our streets, of our fellow citizens who live every day perhaps taking risks, commitment against terrorism, it means the security of our borders, it means a lot, it should not be simplified. Security is something much broader than war’.
