Milan, 1 June (LaPresse) – This weekend, the United States carried out self-defence strikes against Iranian drone radar and command-and-control sites in Goruk, Iran, and on the island of Qeshm. This was announced by Central Command (CentCom) on X. The targeted and controlled strikes took place on Saturday and Sunday in response to aggressive Iranian actions, including the downing of a US MQ-1 drone operating in international waters. US fighter jets responded promptly by taking out Iranian air defences, a ground control station and two attack drones that posed a clear threat to ships transiting through regional waters. No US personnel were injured. CENTCOM will continue to protect US assets and interests in response to Iran’s unwarranted aggression during the ongoing ceasefire.
