Milan, 1 June (LaPresse) – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated in an exclusive interview with CBS News that his government possesses evidence of Russian abductions of Ukrainian children and their training to fight against other Ukrainians. This is an allegation which, according to the International Criminal Court, could constitute a war crime. This is the first time Zelenskyy has publicly made such an accusation, which goes beyond the documented evidence of a Russian state programme to deport Ukrainian children to re-education or ‘Russification’ camps. “When these children grow up, they send them to the battlefield,” Zelenskyy said. Zelenskyy stated that he “has evidence”, but did not specify what that evidence is. “Yes, and they teach these children to hate their country, to hate their people,” said Zelenskyy. “And Ukrainians, can you imagine, these young Ukrainians, these children, going to the battlefield and killing other Ukrainians?”
