Milan, 3 June (LaPresse) – Kylian Mbappé ‘is in sparkling form, both physically and mentally’. This was stated by France manager Didier Deschamps whilst speaking to the French media on the eve of the first World Cup warm-up friendly, scheduled for tomorrow against Ivory Coast in Nantes (9.10pm), to be followed by a match against Northern Ireland on Monday 8 June in Lille (9.10pm). After these two friendlies, France will head to the east coast of the United States, where they have set up their base ahead of the World Cup. “I’ve been in touch with him. He’s spoken to the players; he’s the captain. There’s what happened at club level, and now there’s the national team. With the squad, with those who were present at the first training sessions, he’s given his all,” said Deschamps. “He has experience that the others don’t have. This is his third World Cup. And they’ll be facing a tough opponent. He’s doing very well,” reiterated the French manager.
