Milan, June 4 (LaPresse) – A teacher at the Teulié Military School in Milan has been arrested by Carabinieri on charges of sexual violence, extortion and mistreatment against students and cadets at the institute. Officers from the judicial police unit executed a precautionary custody order issued by the Milan preliminary investigations judge at the request of prosecutor Alessia Menegazzo, who works in the Fifth Department of the Prosecutor’s Office dealing with vulnerable victims and gender-related crimes. Milan Prosecutor Marcello Viola stated in a note that the investigation has revealed “a pattern of constant pressure” exerted by the teacher on the school’s students, the military academy founded in 1802. He allegedly abused his “educational position” and in particular his role as an internal member of the commission for the upcoming final exams. The students were said to have lived in a condition of “psychological subjugation,” Viola wrote, under a regime of “intimidation, harassment, humiliation and manipulation.” They were allegedly forced to endure sexual abuse and to share details of their “private lives” with the arrested teacher.
