Naples, 5 June (LaPresse) – Alfredo d’Agnese, a journalist and music critic, has died in Naples at the age of 67. He worked for many years with La Repubblica and its magazines Repubblica delle Donne and Il Venerdì di Repubblica, as well as with L’Espresso and some of Italy’s leading record labels. Despite the illness that had recently struck him, d’Agnese continued to work and write about music: his final article, an interview with the American singer-songwriter Elvis Costello published in Il Venerdì di Repubblica, appeared today. D’Agnese was one of the founders of the School of Journalism at the Suor Orsola Benincasa University in Naples and directed Run Radio, the university’s radio station, where he taught ‘Communication and Musical Languages’ and ‘Youth Disaffection and Cultural Production’ at the Faculty of Education. He also taught “Communication Techniques” at the Giuseppe Martucci Conservatory in Salerno.
