Turin, 6 June (LaPresse) – The new director of the Mossad, Roman Gofman, has removed the agency’s deputy director, Aleph, from his position, as he “intends to form the management team that will support him in achieving objectives and addressing the challenges the organization will face in the coming years.” This was stated in a press release from the office of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on behalf of the Mossad. Gofman assumed his position on Tuesday, bringing an end to the lengthy legal disputes he faced after Netanyahu announced his appointment in December 2025. He previously served as the Prime Minister’s military secretary. According to the statement, “during his 22 years of service, Aleph was at the forefront of the organization’s operational activities in three operational divisions, commanded two of them, and led a series of innovative operations. For his achievements, he was awarded five Israel Security Prizes.”
